Rachel Budde is an herbalist, and founder of the herbal body care company Fat and the Moon. Rachel sees her work as an herbalist as an extension of her Slovenian heritage. She has been conducting ethnobotanical research on medicinal plants with her Slovenian family for the last six years. The research into her lineage has become the basis for many of the classes Rachel teaches on herbal medicine, and will culminate in a book which weaves together myth and medicine.
Her mentors and teachers include ethnobotanist Kat Harrison, TCM practitioner William Morris, Aviva Romm MD and herbalist Joshua Muscat. Rachel is trained in the somatic psychotherapeutic method, Hakomi. She has also been trained in the ceremonial practices of the Mazatec tradition, from Huautla, Mexico.
