Keya Kai Guimarães

Hawaii, USA

Keya Kai Guimarães is a Community Herbalist, lei-maker, and crafter of aromatic medicines from mauka to makai on the island of Kaua’i. Honoring her Irish, Chinese, and Polynesian heritage, Keya’s path to the plants has been a lifelong practice of listening — approaching the plant kingdom as a perpetual pilgrim and disciple.

Born and raised beneath the fragrant Ponderosa Pines of Colorado and deeply imprinted by the beauty and power of Hawai’i, she draws inspiration from the rainforests, waterfalls, ocean, and gardens of Kaua’i. Rather than harness or extract, she seeks to harmonize with the land, crafting botanical allies that help renew a connection both ancient and enduring.

With certifications from the Bellebuono School of Herbal Medicine, the Heart Stone Herbal School, and the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and a background in dance therapy, yoga, and cultural diplomacy, Keya brings a global perspective to her local plant medicine practice. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing is a process of embracing and sharing — offering the prismatic waters of Kaua’i’s ecosystem to others who seek to connect and heal.
