UpS: Thank you so much to Carol Bedrosian, founder and publisher of Spirit of Change Magazine, for joining us. Carol, could you give readers a quick introduction to Spirit of Change?
SoC: Spirit of Change is New England’s oldest free, holistic, print magazine, in circulation since 1987, and also publishing online at www.spiritofchange.org. We also sponsor the annual Natural Living Expo in Marlboro, MA.
Spirit of Change strives to bring readers the very best transformational information supporting body, mind, spirit, civic and planetary wellness. Spirit of Change‘s special area of focus is the promotion of ideas, tools and networks assisting people in the development of their self-healing skills during this current era of rapid human evolution and change.
UpS: What are three surprising things about the magazine?
SoC: 1. Spirit of Change has been independently published by founder Carol Bedrosian for 35 years.
2. True to its name, Spirit of Change has evolved and changed course to go with the flow. We’ve changed magazine size, page count, frequency of publication, distribution, areas of circulation, and more to keep the ship sailing over many years. The constant change is a reminder that it’s not how we look that makes us who we are; it’s the vibration of our essence that matters.
3. The name Spirit of Change is from a character of the same name in a very old children’s book named “Rainbow Boy.”

UpS: Do you have a favorite memory from the IHS?
SoC: I have been to several International Herb Symposiums, and have always come away pleasantly reeling from the overflow of love, healing energy and plant information at each gathering. The event organizers are to be commended each year for shepherding together such a fantastic array of teachers and experiences for the attendees. It’s magic for me.
UpS: What is something that you’re really excited about?
SoC: Spirit of Change will continue to provide the latest information and ideas about the self-healing tools and skills available to all people, and encourage the transplant of the new belief system of humanity’s self-healing nature. In this way, we can alleviate huge amounts of pain and suffering from life on Earth.
UpS: What should we ask about that we might not have thought of?
SoC: Another mission of Spirit of Change is to spread awareness of using Earth’s proper name, spelled with a capital E and no “the” before the name. Just as we would never lower case or use ‘the’ before our own names or any other planet in our universe, let’s give Earth that same respect with our awareness of this sovereignty.
