Karen and Fiona, known as the Seed SistAs are clinical herbalists trained at Middlesex University. They have studied and researched Ayuveda and Chinese models of medicine and incorporated theories from Western and Eastern Medicine to develop Sensory Herbalism. They have a special love and interest in the so called witching herbs of old, the poisons or power plants. They are avid writers for health and permaculture magazines and have published their own beautiful book, The Sensory Herbal Handbook. They run a Social Enterprise, Sensory Solutions Herbal Evolution and have dedicated their lives to furthering access to knowledge about plant medicine, combining their clinical experience with ritual, art and creativity to teach herbal medicine in a unique, inspiring and accessible style, led by the plants themselves. Originally from Newcastle, Fiona now lives in Dorset with her 2 children, although she has just moved to a new town, she is already busy creating and managing her local community growing space, she keeps bees, loves karate and wild swimming and has a keen interest in all things to do with nature. Karen lives in a little village in Hertfordshire where she manages the local community medicine garden and orchard. She is in the very centre of her growing family, caring for her 92 year old grandmother and a grandmother herself of 2 under 2s......mother to a teenager, recently come out as non binary, child (so learning more and more daily!) She is happiest in the kitchen creating food and medicine with the garden plants.
