Biography
Kathleen Harrison is an ethnobotanist, specializing in the study of the relations between people, plants, and mushrooms. She specializes in medicinal and shamanic species, with the rituals, art forms, myths and beliefs that accompany them. Her stories reveal her decades of experiences with indigenous people and healing ceremonies. She has done fieldwork in Mesoamerica, the Amazon Basin, and Pacific cultures, and is a published author, artist and photographer.
Kat is the founder and director of Botanical Dimensions, an organization devoted to collecting and sharing information on traditions that honor plants and mushrooms. She recently opened the unique Ethnobotany Library in California, which is her teaching base. See www.botanicaldimensions.org
