About Course

The following presentation was recorded live at the 17th International Herb Symposium, September 2025.

We often talk about saving at-risk and endangered plants ~ a noble task, indeed! But perhaps plants are really saving us. Plants have been around a lot longer than humans and by some estimates have been here as long as 450 million years. Plants comprise over 95% of living organisms on Earth. They create a life-giving planet by keeping the biosphere oxygenated. We simply couldn’t live without plants; in a variety of complex and interconnected ways, they are constantly maintaining the biosphere to make it habitable for other life forms, including humans, to thrive in. Join Rosemary in a discussion celebrating plants, and the vital role they play in supporting us in living healthy, happy and productive lives. “They Eat light; what more is there to say?”

We do have an important role to play in preserving at risk and endangered plants and the habitats they thrive in. But while we are saving plants, plants are saving the world.
