Kava – Trade Update – Bill Chioffi
About Course
The pelagic blue waters of the South Pacific Islands and coral reefs that are home to our beloved Kava (Piper methysticum) plant in the Island Republic of Vanuatu are suffering from acidification, coral bleaching, increased intensity and frequency of tropical storms and cyclones. The islanders still rely on this plant to drink themselves in the local Nakamals of Vanuatu but are also increasingly consumed with their own food security, and basic needs of the communities both gathering and processing the Kava that is exported.
