About Course

Join Phyllis as she discusses the use of 10 (or more) of her favorite herbs from the Southern Folk Tradition.
There will be herb stories galore.

What Will You Learn?

  • She will talk about historic Appalachian uses as well as specific uses of each.
  • The herbs include American ginseng, rabbit tobacco, black walnut, blue vervain, goldenseal, echinacea, sumac, skullcap, passionflower, and smartweed.
  • If time permits, we'll also talk about red bud, lyre leaf sage, goldenrod, sweet gum, crossvine, and others.
