Distillation is a key method that had been invented a long time ago as ancient alchemists tried to condense the heavenly fire. Birthed from people trying to mimic nature, alcohol fermentation, and distillation was almost a magical – meditative practice before common understanding of yeast and boiling points was figured out. We will cover the ancient history of fermentation and distillation, adding a little wonder and awe to how the ancients figured this out. We will then go in-depth into how yeast converts sugars into alcohol and how that alcohol can be potentized through distillation. We will also talk about the key uses alcohol has as both an extraction agent, fuel, and cleaner.
