About Course

Much of our immune, endocrine and nervous systems actually live in our digestive tract, and are in close communion with our commensal microbes. In this class, we’ll trace the evolution of our relationship with our microbes and discuss how they feed us, protect us, teach us and communicate with us. We’ll also discuss an ecological model to help support our microbes with herbs, diet and connection to nature.
