The Schedule

About the IHS Schedule

There will most likely be some changes to this schedule ~ Final changes to the schedule will be posted on June 1st. When participants arrive at the IHS, you will receive an updated abbreviated schedule w/titles, teachers and times, but not descriptions. So be sure to download the latest update of the schedule after June 1 if you wish to have a full copy of the workshop descriptions with you (which we recommend).

  • Pre Conference Intensives: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday

  • Opening Ceremonies: 1 ~ 2 p.m. Friday

  • First Classes: 2:30 ~ 4 p.m. Friday

The IHS offers a wide selection of classes, hands on demonstrations, and herb walks for all level of interest and experience. We’ve included a wide diversity of herbal subjects at each workshop session from classes for beginners to those already knowledgeable about herbs and herbal healing, from hands on craft type classes to thought provoking discussions on health and healing, and the history and future of herbal medicine. There at least 10 workshop/class topics to select from at each workshop session. The hardest decision you’ll likely make the entire weekend is trying to decide which of the wonderful and fascinating workshop(s) to attend. In between the classes and in the evenings there are a host of wonderful activities and events planned. The IHS is as much a celebration of green living as it is a symposium on herbal education and natural medicine.

Workshops are designated for beginner (Begin) and Intermediate/Advanced (Int/Adv) when applicable. If not specified, it’s generally considered appropriate for all levels. These are general classifications and are meant to serve as guidelines only. You are welcome to attend any workshop that appeals to you regardless of your level of knowledge or expertise.

Symposium Proceedings Books are $18 ($12 if purchased before the IHS) and are Available at the IHS Information Booth. These are valuable resources, contain class notes, herbal resources and are useful long after the event. Order ahead of time and save $6. Audio recordings of most classes will be available through Tree Farm Communications, www.treefarmtapes.com (800) 468-0464.

Forums & Discussions Groups ~ there is room on Saturday Afternoon for forums and/or discussion groups. If you would like to offer and/or facilitate one, please email us your proposal with a detailed outline of what you would like to share/discuss and information on your herbal background; send to sage@sagemountain.com. Thanks!

VET TRACK For Veterinarians and Animal Lovers ~ This year at the IHS we are also happy to offer a special track sponsored by the Veterinarian Botanical Medicine Association. These classes are open to all participants of the IHS, but will be of special interest to veterinarians and others interested in the wholistic care of animals. There is a $35 additional fee for signing up for the Vet Track which includes a certificate of attendance. Money goes towards helping the Veterinarian Botanical Medicine Association’s ongoing effort to secure recognition for wholistic/herbal therapies for animals.

Continuing Nurses Education ~ We are happy to offer CNE for Nurses again this year at the IHS. If you are a nurse and interested in obtaining CNE’s credits for attending the IHS, check back mid January for the class listing that will be available for nurses credits and further information for registering for them. There is an additional $120 processing fee for CNE credits. Nurses Path classes are designated by NP before the class listing on the schedule.

“Application for approval of continuing nursing education contact hours has been submitted to the American Holistic Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Approval for contact hours through the AHNA is based on an assessment of the educational merit of this program and does not constitute endorsement of the use of any specific modality in the care of clients.”
