Information & Details about the 10th International Herb Symposium

Nurse's Path Schedule

Oh, good scholar, I say to myself,
how can one help but grow wise with such teachings as these ~
the untrimmable light of the world, the ocean’s shine,
the prayers that are made from grass?

~ Mary Oliver

Continuing Nurses Education

We are happy to offer CNE for Nurses again this year at the IHS thanks to the good work of Herbal Nurse Debi Chalko. If you are a nurse and interested in obtaining CNE’s credits for attending the IHS, check back mid January for the class listing that will be available for nurses credits and further information for registering for them. There is an additional fee for processing CNE’s.

“Application for approval of continuing nursing education contact hours has been submitted to the American Holistic Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Approval for contact hours through the AHNA is based on an assessment of the educational merit of this program and does not constitute endorsement of the use of any specific modality in the care of clients.”

The VBMA IHS Vet Track

We’re honored and delighted to be hosting the VBMA Vet Track at this year’s International Herb Symposium. One of Rosemary's earliest teachers and dearest friends was Juliette de Bairacli Levy. Juliette passed away just a couple of years ago at the ripe old age of 97, but she was a major influence in botanical veterinarian medicine and she would be very pleased with all of us for introducing this track to the IHS. Juliette was a beloved teacher at the IHS for many years and made her first appearance to the U.S. after a long absence to attend the International Herb Symposium in 1990.

The Nurses Path ~ CNE

We are delighted again to be able to offer Continuing Nurse Education Hours over the 3 Day International Herb Symposium, thanks to the dedication and hard work of Debi Chalko. CNE’s could maximally equal 13.5 hours if you attend one class per time slot and complete all necessary requirements/documents. The classes have been preceded with an N# on the Schedule, and there are 1or 2 choices during each time slot; each class is worth 1.5 CNE’s. The processing fee for CNE’s is $120, payment and registration requested prior to start of Symposium.

A Statement from the IHS Staff & Sponsors

The International Herb Symposium is well known for representing a wide range of ideas, beliefs, and the various ways we have of working with healing plants from shamanic and folklore to ethnobotanical, clinical and scientific. We think the teachers and classes we’ve chosen for this year’s IHS represent some of the great diversity found amongst herbalists and herbalism.
