2011 International Herb Symposium Workstudy Invitation

The Workstudy crew plays a vital role in keeping the symposium running smoothly as support for the inner workings of the conference. This is an excellent opportunity to work with the teachers and staff, and to be of help and great service to all. Our crew is selected with this in mind.
The 15 person Workstudy crew receives assistance with the financial aspect of attending the symposium in exchange for work performed. Workstudy includes numerous tasks that are assigned equally and fairly to all.
- Responsibilities include: Setting up and Cleaning up for the conference, Assisting Vendor Setup, Registration, Helping with the Book Signing, Decorating & Cleanup for the Ball, Signage, Tea Service, Monitoring Workshops and Intensives, and Coverage at the Information Booth throughout the symposium. Each person should be prepared to work 16 hours over the course of the conference. Our primary task is making this gathering special for all attendees.
- Workstudy pay $200 for the conference. This includes registration, 3 nights lodging (Thursday–Saturday night – w/s must bring their own linens and towels) and meals (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch). Please bring your dinner for Thursday evening. Friday Breakfast and Lunch will be available for purchase in the dining commons, if desired. Symposium Proceedings are available for $12.00.
- Workstudy are not eligible for scholarships.
- Workstudy are limited to selecting one (1) Intensive to facilitate equitable scheduling of tasks. Workstudy obligations will not interfere with attendance at that Intensive. The $35 fee for the Intensive is payable upon registration. Intensive fees are non‐refundable, but if chosen to monitor the intensive, the fee will be returned.
- All Workstudy must arrive on Thursday afternoon, June 23rd at 5:00 pm for an orientation meeting and to begin set up for the conference. This is a great time to connect as a team and to make ready to welcome everyone on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
- As Workstudy, the privilege of exchanging work performed for financial assistance is offered. As a measure of commitment, the symposium fee, along with other applicable fees are payable when you register for Workstudy.
